Xunantunich Wayo’ob Project
We are excited to share with you this collaboration between Smokovich Designs and Sunset Maya Workshop. This has been a project that has been over one and half years in the making. Jorge Castellanos and I have teamed up to bring these ancient images from the past into todays world. Jorge is a talented slate carver that lives within eyesight of “El Castillo” at the Xunantunich archaeological temple and has spent his life dedicated to his craft. Jorge used to climb all over the ruins as a child, before any restorations took place and still visits the site in the modern day. The purpose of this project is to keep the Mayan arts alive and bring visibilty to the special relics and history. This has been an extensive project and hope you enjoy all the art, music, videos and media we have created to bring this vision to life.
This is a limited edition series, there will be 9 available for each style in 14k gold, and 13 available in sterling silver of each style.
