K’awiil, Sometimes referred to as God K, is a Maya deity identified with lightning, serpents, fertility and maize. He is characterized by a zoomorphic head, with large eyes, long, upturned snout and attenuated serpent tooth.

featuring white and black diamonds, ruby and yellow sapphire representing the four cardinal directions of the Maya Cosmovision. The emerald in the eye of the K’awiil represents the center point of the four directions as well as planet earth.
